Autonomous Navigation in demanding environments


One of the biggest barriers to autonomous navigation is safety. RoadCode has developed a sensor system helping to overcome current limitations of todays sensor systems, thereby contributing to a faster enrollment of autonomous vehicles. RoadCode┬┤s sensor system makes it possible to navigate safely when other navigation systems are temporarily or permanently out of order. Using a unique non-visual system contributes to increasing the autonomous vehicles redundancy.


RoadCode was founded as a response to a market need for safe navigation systems for autonomous driving.

RethinkX predicts that by 2030 95% of U.S. passenger miles traveled will be served by on-demand autonomous electric vehicles. One of the biggest hurdles to implement autonomous driving on a large scale is the current lack of redundancy in the navigation systems. Most companies today aim to develop the best camera, LiDAR or radar system. All of these systems have one thing in common; it is a visual system requiring unubstructed view. Although there are great technological advances in this field, there is stil a need for alternative systems complementing this technology and helping to increase safety in visually demanding environments.
